It seems fitting to publish my latest Small Joys post today on my birthday. Birthdays are always a great time for reflection, but especially this one. I am turning 30 and entering a new decade!

My 20s brought a lot of wonderful things like love, friendship, and personal and professional achievements. This was coupled with loss and illness and trauma. I acknowledge the entirety of my life experiences, good and bad, while intentionally choosing gratitude today as I catalog my latest list of little things bringing me joy!

Y’all know that I always think it’s important to live sustainably, and times when I’m traveling are no exception! In fact, I would argue that it is especially important to be eco-minded when traveling since traveling tends to be inherently environmentally unfriendly. You typically burn more fossil fuels than normal when you travel long distance by car or plane. And, you’re likely using more water, since your hotel towels and sheets are probably washed way more frequently than you would wash your own towels and sheets at home. It’s great to be able to offset some of these environment ills with some sustainable packing!

We are so grateful that things ended up not being as bad in our area as the forecasters originally thought. Still, my thoughts go out to all of those who did have terrible impacts from the storm!  Read More

Y’all, it is almost officially SPRING!! The air is a tad warmer, it’s staying light longer, and flowers are starting to bloom. It has given me such a mood boost, and I have found myself drawn to fresh, light clothing that matches the approaching season!

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to take my mom to The Flourish Market for the first time. It was fun to show her a place that means so much to me! She purchased a fabulous knotted top, and I took home this bell-sleeved beauty. Read More
