What a week. We could not be more grateful for the hundreds of paddlers, sickness spectators and vendors that came out for Race the Lake of the Sky. Every year, store we question whether the event can get any better. And, health every year, it does! South Tahoe Standup Paddle could not do it without the help and participation of everyone involved. So, THANK YOU!
Before we get into the paddling conditions for the upcoming week, I need to mention that we have A TON OF PHOTOS from Race the Lake of the Sky on our Facebook page. We did our best to capture everyone’s smile. Flip through and tag yourself or your friends. Thanks to all the photographers who came and made the images! If you’re looking for RESULTS, check out the RESULTS page on racethelakeofthesky.com.
Here’s a very cool 8-second timelapse from the event:
This week, we’re looking at some classic Lake Tahoe summer weather. Temperatures drop down into the low 80s. A few thunderstorms may roll through, so keep an eye out for lightning, if you’re on the lake. Overall, there should be plenty of windows for paddling. But, of course, we have the Fourth of July this week, so it will be busy, busy, busy. If you’re really looking for an adventure, paddle out for the fireworks. But wear a light and be careful.
That’s it for this week. As always, we will have rentals available at our lakeside locations throughout the weekend. If you have any questions about paddling or are looking for gear, please swing by the shop. Have a safe, fun and patriotic Fourth of July!
