Wow, salve the weeks just fly by in the summer. We’re already into late July. Next thing you know, order it’s going to be September and suddenly it will be snowing. I think we all need to slow down, sovaldi grab a board and just float around for a few hours.
Per usual, Lake Tahoe’s weather is unpredictable and often inconsiderate. Driving past Zephyr Cove a couple days ago, I saw people running for their lives as hail moved into the area. Hopefully, this week will be free and clear of major storms.
We’re looking at temperatures in the mid-70s with almost entirely sunny conditions through the weekend. The winds will turn on in the afternoon with gusts up over 10 miles per hour. While that can make it a tad tricky to paddle, there are ways around it. I recommend either going out early in the morning or checking out some of the spots on the West Shore, as it’s usually fairly sheltered.
Another round of the Wednesday Night SUP Series is in the books. Last night, conditions were fantastic with light winds and a mellow course. More photos are up on the Facebook. Please join the South Tahoe Standup crew the Wednesday after next for another amazing race.
Summer operations continue to cruise along here at the shop. We continue to hold our Monday night Ladies Night, which is a blast. Last Monday, the group toured down to the flowery shores of the Upper Truckee Marsh. All women and girls are welcome to attend. It’s free if you bring your own board, or we’ve got a special deal on rentals.
Of course, we’re still basking in the afterglow of hosting Race the Lake of the Sky. It’s fun to see all the photos and videos that the different companies and racers shot during the event roll out. Riviera Paddlesurf put together a radical recap video. Check it out below.
As always, we will have rentals available at our lakeside locations throughout the weekend. If you have any questions about paddling or are looking for gear, please swing by the shop. Also visit our Facebook page or Instagram for the latest news. Have a wonderful week out there.
