We are nearly one third of the way through 2015 and things couldn’t be going any better. After last week’s burst of snow, viagra the skies are clearing and the temperatures are rising. It is spring once again here on the South Shore, salve and the paddling is fantastic.
This week we’re looking at high temperatures hanging in the upper 60s and low 70s. We’ll have some clouds this weekend, cialis but nothing to shake an umbrella at. The tough part about spring weather is the wind. We’re going to see gusts up to 14 mph in the afternoons most of the days this week. If you’re looking to paddle, get out in the morning or do a downwinder— just check the wind first as there’s been a lot of switching. Remember, South Shore conditions are always available on our webcam.
I paddled from Ski Run to Edgewood and then back to Regan Beach yesterday afternoon and somehow it was upwind both ways. This week, due to the winds, I would suggest the best days to paddle are Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you get out early enough, you might be able to score some of that classic Lake Tahoe glass.
The shop is filling up with awesome new inventory. Chris, Jared and crew and have been stocking the back warehouse with the latest lineups from Riviera, 404 and Lakeshore. The new colors and designs of the 404 boards look amazing. Check out the photo below or swing by and see them in person.
Event planning for the summer continues. We got the confirmation from Riviera that they will be providing boards for the raucous SUP Cross at Race the Lake of the Sky. This is truly a charitable act, as boards tend to get pretty beat up. If you haven’t registered yet, go for it. Registration will be open until the start of the event, but prices will go up. Here’s an awesome timelapse of the 2014 event to get you stoked!
If you have any questions about paddling on Lake Tahoe or if you’re looking for gear, come by and see us at the shop. We’re open every day. If somebody isn’t in the front shop, we are most likely around back in the warehouse. Or you can give us a ring at 530-416-4829. You can also reach us on our Facebook page. And make sure to follow South Tahoe Standup Paddle and Race the Lake of the Sky on Instagram. Current conditions on Lake Tahoe’s South Shore are always available on our webcam. We hope you have a fantastic week out there.
