Hello Paddlers, sales
With the current weather, doctor it’s unlikely many of you are thinking about hitting the water. But that doesn’t mean we can’t spend our après ski hours dreaming about warm days on the lake, right? Summer will be here soon enough, and I bet if you’re really itching, you can sneak a few cold glassy trips in.
The weather this week is a bit of a mix. It will be stormy throughout today with temperatures forecasted below 20 degrees. The Snowglobers better bundle up big time. Through the rest of the week and first days of 2015 we’ll see a warming pattern with highs in the 40s. Skies should be clear and winds will be mild. Friday and Saturday appear to be the best days to paddle.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Santa brought the entire Brackett family new snowboards. I was lucky enough to score a new wetsuit and a few cold, brown waves up on the North Coast. Between the murkiness of the river mouth and the local seal population, the water seemed like it might have been home to some big fish.
In paddling news, Supracer.com has named their top 14 men and women paddlers of the year. Supracer.com staff also compiled lists of the top 14 videos, the top 14 races (including SOUTH TAHOE STANDUP’S OWN RACE THE LAKE OF THE SKY) and the top 14 stories. Scrolling through these lists is a great way to recap what an amazing year 2014 was for paddling. Spoiler alert: their number one video is embedded below.
We hope you have a wonderful and safe New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. We can’t wait to kick off another year of South Tahoe Standup Paddle. Thank you all for allowing us to do what we love.
All the best,
The STSUP Team
